Happy Friday seems the logical thing to say on this last day of the work week. And I am happy it's Friday. And I'm also stressed that it's Friday. Weekends aren't necessarily my best friend. Too much time to think. Too many possibilities and my brain just freezes. I just don't always do well with them.
I structure my weekends pretty carefully. If I know I'm going to do this thing at that time followed by the other thing at another time, I do pretty well. If I don't, I a) sleep; b) climb the walls with anxiety too thick to think of what to do.
Fridays are a day of thinking and planning. What can I do in the next two days to avoid anxiety and depression without too much difficulty? Is it regimented and enticing enough to do its job? It's crazy. People think I'm crazy for having to plan my weekends, of all things! I agree; however, I have found that it helps, so I'm willing to go with it to avoid the panicky feelings and depression that are the result of not planning.
So what's the plan for this weekend? Pretty simple but effective: movie, library, park, building website, reading books, mowing the lawn, and doing laundry.
On Sunday I'll blog about Church, because that's a sore spot in my life right now, and it will almost definitely be weighing on my mind then.
Until then, plan to enjoy the weekend.
